New Management Activity and Demonstration Projects in 2014

During 2013-2014, several different demonstration projects were conducted on the Cameron Tract in attempt to revitalize management activity and the over-all mission of the demonstration forest. These projects included the reconstruction of the south road (Firehouse Road), a 25 acre utility pole harvest timber sale, the construction of a new multi-use trail linking the Cameron Tract to the 580 road on the McDonald Forest and the addition of five new interpretative signs to the south end of the tract. Masters student Joanie Schmidgall coordinated efforts and documented these various processes for her Master of Forestry project and helped make information about each one accessible to small woodland owners.
